Coil is a Nigerian app that makes fueling your car easier, faster, and safer. You can find stations near you that have fuel right now, compare prices before you leave home, and pay at the pump from your phone — without using cash or handing over your debit card.
Download the Coil app from the App Store or Google Play. Create an account with your phone number, verify your identity, and fund your wallet. Once your wallet has money in it, you can start paying for fuel at any Coil partner station straight away.
Your Coil wallet is a virtual bank account in your own name, powered by Paystack. When you add money, it goes into that account and stays there until you spend it on fuel. Coil does not hold your money — it simply helps you use it securely at the pump. You can check your balance, view transaction history, and fund your wallet any time inside the app.
You can fund your wallet by bank transfer, debit card, or USSD — from any Nigerian bank. Your wallet has a dedicated virtual account number you can transfer to directly. Funds appear instantly. There is no minimum amount required to get started.
There is no minimum balance — you can fund any amount and start using the app. Daily and transaction limits apply in line with Central Bank of Nigeria guidelines, based on your account verification tier. You can see your current limits inside the app under Settings.
Coil works at all filling stations that are registered on our network — across multiple major fuel brands and independent stations. The app shows you which stations near you are live on Coil. We are growing the network daily, so more stations are added regularly.
We built Coil specifically for Nigerian network conditions. If your connection drops during a transaction, the app queues the payment and completes it automatically once connection is restored. You will never lose money because of a poor network. If a transaction fails, an automatic refund is triggered to your wallet.
Yes. Coil is completely free to download and free to use. There are no subscription fees, no monthly charges, and no hidden costs. You only spend the money you put into your wallet on fuel.

You simply point your phone at it — the moment the scan is successful, payment is confirmed on our secure servers, fuel is authorized, and a receipt is generated in your app. Your card details, wallet credentials, and personal information are never shared or exposed at any point during the transaction. Yes. Every transaction on Coil generates a digital receipt instantly in your app — station name, amount, litres dispensed, date and time. You can view your full transaction history and share or download any receipt directly from the app. No more paper receipts that get lost.
No. Coil only allows you to pay for fuel up to your available wallet balance. The app will show you your balance before you confirm any transaction, so you always know exactly how much you have available. If your balance is insufficient, you can top up your wallet instantly before proceeding.
Fuel4U is a feature inside the Coil app that lets you transfer fuel credit directly to another Coil user. It works like sending money — except the recipient can only spend what you send on fuel at any Coil partner station. Perfect for sending your driver fuel money, topping up a family member, or splitting fuel costs with friends.
You can send fuel credit to any person who has a registered Coil account. Search by their name or phone number in the app, enter the amount, and confirm. The fuel credit appears in their Coil wallet instantly.
No. Fuel credit sent via Fuel4U can only be spent on fuel at Coil partner stations. It cannot be withdrawn as cash, transferred to a bank account, or used for anything other than fueling. This means when you send someone fuel money, you know it goes exactly where it should.
Fuel4U transfers between Coil users are free. There are no transfer fees, service charges, or deductions. The full amount you send is the full amount the recipient receives in their wallet.
Fuel4U is useful in many everyday situations — sending your driver fuel money before a long trip, topping up your child at university who needs to drive, funding a family member before a long journey, splitting fuel costs with friends on a road trip, or even a quick employer top-up for a staff member outside the regular monthly allowance cycle.
Yes. Your money is never held by Coil. It sits in a virtual bank account in your own name, backed by Paystack and regulated Nigerian banking infrastructure. Coil is the app that helps you spend it at the pump securely — but the money itself is always in your name, in a regulated account.
No. Coil does not store your card number, CVV, or any card details on our servers. When you fund your wallet by card, the transaction is processed securely through Paystack — we never see or store your card information. Because you pay at the pump using a QR code, your card never touches a terminal at a filling station either.
Contact our support team immediately or log in to your Coil account through another device and lock your wallet from the app settings. Your wallet is protected by your login credentials and a transaction PIN — no one can spend your money without both. Never. Coil does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. Your data is used only to provide and improve the Coil service. Coil monitors every transaction in real time and flags anything that looks unusual — unexpected amounts, unusual locations, repeated failed attempts. For businesses, every purchase is tied to a specific employee, station, time, and amount, making fraud detectable and traceable immediately. For individuals, QR codes are single-use and station-specific, eliminating the most common forms of fuel payment fraud.
Yes. Every time you buy fuel or use a service through Coil, you earn points automatically. As your points grow, you move through four tiers — Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond — each unlocking better rewards and exclusive offers from Coil partners.
Points are earned automatically with every fuel purchase you make through Coil. You can also earn bonus points by helping the community — for example, reporting whether a station has fuel available near you. Your points balance and tier status are always visible in the app.
You can redeem your points for discounts on future fuel purchases and access to exclusive partner offers. The app always shows you exactly what your points are worth and what you can redeem them for. Simply go to the Rewards section in the app to see your available redemption options.
Yes. Even when you are fueling using an allowance sent by your employer through Coil for Business, you still earn loyalty points on every transaction. The points go to your personal Coil account — they are yours to keep and redeem.
Points remain valid as long as your account is active. We will always notify you well in advance if any changes to the points policy are made. Our goal is to make rewards work for you — not expire before you can use them.
Coil for Business is a platform that allows companies to replace cash or card-based fuel allowances with a smarter, fully digital system. Companies fund a central wallet, assign monthly fuel budgets per employee, and staff spend their allowance at any Coil partner station using the app. The employer sees every transaction in real time on a business dashboard.
Register your company on the Coil Business portal, fund your company fuel wallet via bank transfer, add your staff by searching their Coil-registered phone numbers, set a monthly allowance per person, and send. The whole setup typically takes less than 24 hours from sign-up to first allowance sent.
Yes. You can set a different monthly fuel allowance for every individual employee, or send by department. A junior staff member might receive ₦20,000 while a senior manager receives ₦80,000. You can also send to all staff at once, by department, or to one individual — whichever suits your payroll process.
Yes. You can add new staff, edit their allowance, or remove them from your company wallet at any time from the dashboard. Staff must have a registered Coil account — you add them by searching their phone number. For large teams, you can also bulk-import staff via CSV upload.
Yes — and this is one of Coil’s biggest advantages. Unlike single-brand fuel cards that only work at one type of station, your staff can use their Coil allowance at any station on our network, regardless of brand. If one station has no fuel, they simply go to the next available one.
Yes. Every transaction is fully logged — employee name, department, station name, amount, litres dispensed, date and time. Your business dashboard shows all of this in real time. You can filter by employee, department, or date range, and export reports to CSV or PDF any time.
No minimum at all. Coil for Business works whether you have 2 employees or 2,000. There are also no setup fees — your company pays nothing to get started. You only spend what you put into the company fuel wallet.
Any unspent fuel allowance remains in the employee’s Coil wallet unless you as the employer choose to reclaim or adjust it. Your dashboard gives you full visibility and control over each staff member’s balance at any time.

Your station becomes discoverable by thousands of Coil users actively looking for fuel near them. You get a live station dashboard showing transactions, customer counts, and availability status. Payments from Coil users are settled directly to your registered station bank account. Settlement timelines and any applicable terms are discussed and agreed during the onboarding process. Our partnerships team will walk you through all the details before you go live.
Minimal setup is required. Your attendants need a way to scan QR codes — this can be a dedicated scanner or a smartphone running the Coil Station app. Our onboarding team will advise you on the simplest and most cost-effective setup for your station type and volume.
