Ikoyi, Lagos Nigeria

Built by Nigerians, for Nigerians

It was a Wednesday morning in Lagos. Ifunanya Nwokedi was already late for a meeting when her fuel gauge hit empty. She drove to three stations all dry. The fourth had fuel but the POS machine was down. She paid cash, got no receipt, and arrived 40 minutes late.

That evening she called Opeyemi. By the weekend, they had mapped out what would become Coil a platform that tells you who has fuel before you leave, lets you pay safely from your phone, and gives you a digital receipt every single time.

We did not build Coil to be another fintech. We built it to fix something real — something every Nigerian with a car knows is broken. The fuel market in Nigeria moves ₦2.1 trillion every month. That transaction is still broken. We exist to fix it.

The vision that drives us

We want every filling station in Africa to become a smart, modern hub where you can pay digitally, find what you need, and never waste time again.

Coil is working to become Africa’s number one technology company for energy and mobility building the digital foundation that will power how Africa accesses energy, starting at the pump.

To make finding fuel, checking prices, and paying at the pump as simple and stress free as possible. For everyday Nigerians. For businesses. For filling station operators. And for the continent.

Our core values

Innovation

We use technology to solve everyday problems that Nigerians and Africans face at the pump every single day.

Integrity

We are honest and transparent in everything we do with our users, our partners, and our team.

Sustainability

We care about doing things in a way that is good for people and the environment, now and for the future.

We do not cut corners. We deliver quality every time. Africa deserves world-class technology.

Pan-African

Making a difference together

At Coil, we believe in building technology that has real, meaningful impact on the daily lives of Nigerians. Every time someone finds a station faster, pays without stress, or a company stops wasting money on broken allowances that is our purpose in action.

We are not just building an app. We are building the infrastructure for how Africa accesses energy, one station at a time.

Love to be a part of the team?

We are a focused team building technology that affects millions of Nigerians every day. Everyone owns something real. Every person can see their work in the product. Come build with us.
